Two_Nationl Exhibition
 

  PCG holds occasional Two-Nation Exhibitions to strengthen the exchange and sharing of vision between Pakistani and foreign fellow-practitioners. These events display a wide range of work from both countries. PCG has organized 3 Two-Nation exhibitions with Iran, United Kingdom and Italy.

Iran & Pakistan, 2004

  This was the first show of the series. The Governor of the Punjab, Lt. Gen. (Retd) Khalid Maqbool, inaugurated the exhibition. Four Irani artists came to attend the exhibition. They were Ali Raza Qad Khudai, Hadi Tawaslee , Kawa Zamani and Tahir Nabi Zaida. This exhibition was organized with the collaboration of Iran Culture Centre, Lahore.

United Kingdom & Pakistan, 2005

The second show of this series, it was called “…The Twain Shall Meet”. The Governor of the Punjab, Lt. Gen. (Retd) Khalid Maqbool, inaugurated the exhibition. Prof. Ewan Clayton of Sunderland University came to attend the exhibition. This exhibition organized with the collaboration of the British Council, Lahore. The pre-show press briefing at the British Council was addressed by Dr. Iftikhar Ilahi, M. Athar Tahir, Ustad Ikram ul-Haq, Ustad Irfan Ahmad Khan and Prof. Ewan Clayton.

16 Calligraphers and Calligraph-artists exhibited their work. From the United Kingdom Prof. Ewan Clayton, Hazel Dolby, Gaynor Goffe, Mary Noble, Tom Perkins, Stephen Raw and Edward Wates participated. From Pakistan Ustad Irfan Ahmad Khan, Dabir Ahmad, Imran Ahmad, Amin Gulgee, Haneef Ramay, Jamshed Qaiser, M. Athar Tahir, Ustad Ikram ul-Haq and Muhammad Ali Zahid took part.

Prof. Ewan Claton delivered a lecture on calligraphy and held workshops with the students of PCG, Punjab University and Lahore College for Women University.

A catalogue, “The Twain Shall Meet” was published.

Italy & Pakistan, 2006

  The third show was called “Arno to Ravi”. The Governor of the Punjab, Lt. Gen. (Retd) Khalid Maqbool, inaugurated the exhibition. Prof. Massimo Polello and Ms. Anna came to attend the exhibition. This exhibition organized with the collaboration of  and the Pakistan Embassy, Rome. 

  28 Calligraph-artists exhibited their work. Italian artists included Chen Li, Cristiana Erbetta, Enzo Pelli, Elisa Vallarino, Francesca Poggio, Francesca Biasetton, Gabriela Carbognani, Patrizia Cianci, Gabriella Sabbadin, Giovanni De Faccio, Giovanna Frova, Graziano De Rossi, Helga Ladurner, Laura Belrtamino, Kathy Frate, Massimo Polello and Monica Dengo. From Pakistan Ustad Ikram ul-Haq, Jamshed Qaiser, Ustad Irfan Ahmad Khan, M. Athar Tahir, Muhammad Ali Zahid, Imran Ahmad, Hafiz Anjum Mahmood, Afzal Jahangir, Maqsood Jawahar-raqam and Seema Gulzar participated.

  Prof. Massimo Polello delivered a lecture on calligraphy and held several work-shops with the students of PCG, Punjab University and Lahore College for Women University.

  A catalogue “Arno to Ravi” was published.
